Job Description
Vice President of Accounting at American Addiction Centers leading finance operations and managing all aspects of accounting departments. Overseeing GAAP compliance, audit success, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Accounting department, including Accounts Payable and Payroll
- Oversee all aspects of accounting policies and methods, GAAP compliance, audit success and monthly reporting
- Report directly to the CFO and serve as a vital member of the leadership team
- Manage all aspects of accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, reserves and/or allowances, payables, payroll, financial reporting, and board reporting in tandem with FP&A and Finance Analytics
- Analyze company's financial results with respect to costs, vendor management and spend, profitability, trend reporting, and the integrity of accruals
- Lead the team toward a routine, timely and accurate month end close process
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Oversee all aspects of annual audit success
- Provide data and analysis for ad hoc requests from business partners
- Develop and lead team of accounting and finance professionals
Requirements:
- Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance or MBA
- CPA or CMA preferred
- 12+ years of managerial accounting and financial management experience
- Excellent managerial skills and ability to evaluate the work of others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Working knowledge of organization’s applicable financial practices and procedures
- Thorough understanding of state and federal rules and regulations
- Proficient with accounting software and standard office and accounting equipment
