Job Description
Voice Actor recording expressive, neutral French samples for Mercor’s AI research partner. Supporting TTS training and an internal CX AI Agent through voice cloning.
Responsibilities:
- Record high-quality voice samples across conversational, narrative, instructional, and other scripts
- Deliver clear, natural, expressive speech with control over tone, pacing, and pronunciation
- Maintain consistency in voice, accent, and delivery across recording sessions
- Follow detailed recording guidelines covering environment, microphone setup, and file formatting
- Perform multiple takes with variations in emotion, emphasis, and style when required
- Contribute recordings to training and evaluation of next-generation text-to-speech systems
- Provide voice recordings exclusively for the client's internal CX AI Agent; recordings may be cloned for that use case
- Complete work on an independent schedule, with project duration subject to client needs and performance
Requirements:
- Native or native-level French speaker
- Standard, neutral, accent-free French delivery; no strong regional accent or foreign-language influence
- Clear, natural, and expressive voice
- Access to a professional or near-professional recording setup, including quality microphone, quiet environment, and pop filter
- Strong command of intonation, diction, and emotional range
- Ability to follow scripts precisely while maintaining natural delivery
- Reliable availability for 5-10 hours per week over the project duration
- Must be comfortable with voice cloning for the client's CX AI Agent
- Experience recording for TTS, audiobooks, IVR systems, or AI voice datasets preferred
- Familiarity with audio editing tools such as Audacity, Adobe Audition, or Reaper preferred
- Ability to deliver multiple vocal styles preferred
- Independent contractor engagement
- Unable to support H1-B or STEM OPT candidates
