Job Description
Voice actor recording neutral Latin American Spanish samples for Mercor’s AI research projects. Training and evaluating expressive text-to-speech systems for a client’s CX AI Agent.
Responsibilities:
- Record high-quality voice samples across conversational, narrative, instructional, and other scripts
- Deliver clear, natural, expressive speech with control over tone, pacing, and pronunciation
- Maintain consistency in voice, accent, and delivery across recording sessions
- Follow detailed recording guidelines for environment, microphone setup, and file formatting
- Perform multiple takes with variation in emotion, emphasis, and style when required
- Contribute recordings to training and evaluation of next-generation text-to-speech systems
- Provide voice recordings exclusively for the client's internal CX AI Agent
- Collaborate with leading AI researchers on projects training and enhancing AI systems
Requirements:
- Native Latin American Spanish speaker currently based in Latin America
- Neutral, internationally intelligible Spanish without a strong regional accent
- Clear, natural, and expressive voice
- Professional or near-professional recording setup, including a quality microphone, quiet environment, and pop filter
- Strong command of intonation, diction, and emotional range
- Ability to follow scripts precisely while maintaining natural delivery
- Reliable availability for 5–10 hours per week over the project duration
- Must consent to voice cloning for the client's CX AI Agent
- Prior voice-acting, narration, or broadcast experience is a plus, not required
- Familiarity with audio editing tools such as Audacity, Adobe Audition, or Reaper is preferred
- Ability to deliver multiple vocal styles is preferred
- Independent contractor engagement
- H1-B and STEM OPT candidates are not supported
