Job Description
Voice actor recording expressive, neutral French samples for Mercor’s AI voice-cloning projects. Supporting training and evaluation of next-generation text-to-speech systems.
Responsibilities:
- Record high-quality voice samples across conversational, narrative, instructional, and diverse scripts
- Deliver clear, natural, and expressive speech with control over tone, pacing, and pronunciation
- Maintain consistency in voice, accent, and delivery across recording sessions
- Follow detailed recording guidelines covering environment, microphone setup, and file formatting
- Perform multiple takes with variation in emotion, emphasis, and style when required
- Contribute recordings for training and evaluating next-generation text-to-speech systems
- Recordings will be used exclusively for the client's internal CX AI Agent and may be voice-cloned for that use case
Requirements:
- Native or native-level French speaker with a standard, neutral, accent-free French accent
- Qualified speakers may be located anywhere
- Clear, natural, and expressive voice
- Access to a professional or near-professional recording setup, including a quality microphone, quiet environment, and pop filter
- Strong command of intonation, diction, and emotional range
- Ability to follow scripts precisely while maintaining natural delivery
- Reliable availability for 5–10 hours per week over the project duration
- Must be comfortable with voice cloning for the client's CX AI Agent
- Familiarity with audio editing tools such as Audacity, Adobe Audition, or Reaper preferred
- Experience recording for TTS, audiobooks, IVR systems, or AI voice datasets preferred
- Ability to deliver multiple vocal styles preferred
- Independent contractor status
- Mercor is unable to support H1-B or STEM OPT candidates
