Job Description
VP of Planning & Procurement leading logistics and S&OP strategy at Assurant. Driving inventory optimization, financial performance, and customer satisfaction across global operations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the planning strategy for logistics, repair, and distribution networks
- Build a standardized demand planning and forecasting process aligned with financial forecasts
- Lead the S&OP process to balance supply and demand, identify risks, and drive proactive decisions
- Create capacity models to optimize resource utilization and meet customer expectations
- Ensure optimal stock levels and effective inventory management across regions and depots
- Conduct operational productivity analyses and lead global inventory optimization initiatives
- Develop and automate KPI reporting for internal and client-facing stakeholders
- Analyze business and financial results to support strategic decision-making
- Monitor and improve forecasting accuracy and operational efficiency through performance metrics
- Partner with procurement, forecasting, business development, and other teams to align operations with demand planning
- Collaborate with clients and actuaries to forecast volume requirements and validate assumptions
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across cross-functional teams
- Lead and mentor a team of directors and managers supporting planning, analytics, procurement, and order management
- Provide coaching, career development, and performance management to build a high-performing team
- Manage inventory budgets exceeding $100M, maximizing margin growth through effective supply–demand balancing
- Support cost-reduction efforts while maintaining high service levels
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or related fields, including 3+ years in a leadership role managing cross-functional teams
- Strong proficiency with forecasting and inventory planning systems
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, trend analysis, modeling)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Proven success leading cross-functional process improvements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level influence.
