Job Description
Web & App Developer enhancing web platforms and internal applications for The Channel Company. Collaborating with multiple teams to troubleshoot, build, and support production systems.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain CMS‑driven websites using established development workflows.
- Develop and improve reusable components and templates.
- Troubleshoot issues, optimise performance, and contribute to core platform code.
- Implement and maintain API integrations with internal and third‑party systems.
- Support CMS users globally and help resolve production issues.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal web applications, including engagement or gamification tools.
- Write, debug, and refactor Python and JavaScript code to enhance reliability and maintainability.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including planning, code reviews, testing, and release cycles.
- Collaborate with external partners and help transition work in‑house over time.
- Assist with Cloudflare configuration (DNS, caching, redirects, basic rules).
- Develop Python scripts or lightweight services (e.g., AWS Lambda).
- Support integrations with data, marketing, and content systems.
- Help maintain and monitor cloud‑hosted environments.
- Work closely with Product, Data, UX, and Editorial teams.
- Document solutions and contribute to shared technical knowledge.
- Identify recurring issues and propose technical improvements.
Requirements:
- 2–5 years of professional experience in web development or application development.
- Hands‑on experience with Python and JavaScript
- Familiarity with GitHub (pull requests, reviews, version control).
- Experience supporting or developing CMS‑based or web platform environments.
- Excellent communication skills in English; fluency in other Asian language is a plus
- Strong problem‑solving skills and confidence working in production environments.
- Ability to support internal stakeholders, including non‑technical users.
- Flexibility to work across multiple time zones.
