Job Description
Web Platform Reliability Engineer ensuring uptime and performance of WordPress platforms for online media. Collaborating with frontend teams and optimizing delivery using Cloudflare.
Responsibilities:
- Own the health, uptime, and performance of WordPress-powered platforms across production environments.
- Continuously monitor site load, response times, and infrastructure behavior to prevent issues before they impact users.
- Implement performance enhancements to support high-traffic usage and content-heavy workflows.
- Maintain and evolve WordPress installations, including themes, plugins, custom integrations, and publishing workflows.
- Ensure backend systems support efficient content creation, updates, and releases without disruption.
- Lead platform upgrades, backups, and technical maintenance activities.
- Support and maintain React.js components embedded within WordPress-based systems.
- Collaborate with frontend teams to ensure seamless integration between CMS-driven content and modern UI components.
- Troubleshoot frontend performance and rendering issues related to WordPress-React interactions.
- Optimize delivery and security using Cloudflare, including caching strategies, DNS tuning, firewall rules, and traffic management.
- Improve page load speed and resilience through edge-level performance enhancements.
- Enforce security best practices across servers, applications, and plugins.
- Handle updates, vulnerability mitigation, and disaster recovery planning.
- Act as an escalation point during critical incidents, ensuring fast resolution and minimal downtime.
- Work closely with content, SEO, product, and engineering teams to support platform improvements and feature rollouts.
- Provide technical input for site enhancements, experiments, and optimization initiatives.
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of experience managing WordPress platforms in production environments.
- Strong understanding of WordPress internals, plugin ecosystems, performance tuning, and hosting considerations.
- Hands-on experience working with React.js in CMS-driven or hybrid web architectures.
- Proven expertise in Cloudflare (caching, DNS, security, performance optimization).
- Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with the ability to debug frontend and backend issues.
- Experience managing servers or cloud-hosted environments with a focus on uptime and scalability.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to stay calm and effective during production incidents.
- Ownership mindset with a passion for reliability, speed, and user experience.

- Exposure to CI/CD workflows and Git-based version control.
- Experience with performance monitoring, error tracking, or uptime tools.
- Background supporting high-traffic websites, media platforms, or content-heavy products.
