Job Description

Account Specialist providing customer service and collections for high risk accounts at BMO. Collaborating with clients on payment strategies and service activities to ensure trust and relations.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in the review and evaluation of delinquent, high risk, or written-off accounts
  • Understand customer needs and provide collections-related sales and service
  • Advise customers on payment strategies and products
  • Fulfill sales and service activities in accordance with approved procedures
  • Support coaching, training, quality audits, and vendor management
  • Deliver exceptional customer service
  • Develop rapport and instill confidence with clients
  • Contact customers to manage their application status
  • Execute loss mitigation processes for non-performing and high risk accounts
  • Handle incoming calls professionally and efficiently
  • Review accounts and analyze data to determine probability of collection

Requirements:

  • Typically between 3 - 5 years of relevant experience
  • Post-secondary degree in related field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of Credit Qualifications and associated credit knowledge
  • Knowledge of federal, state/provincial and local laws pertaining to Consumer Collections
  • Knowledge of BMO products and services
  • Verbal & written communication skills
