Job Description

Accounting & Advisory Services Manager leading Delerme CPA’s accounting, advisory, AUP, and government compliance services. Managing client engagements, financial reporting, staff, and tax-readiness coordination.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Accounting & Advisory Services Department
  • Create, document, and improve accounting workflows and procedures
  • Establish department KPIs, deadlines, and accountability measures
  • Drive operational efficiency and continuous process improvement
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement proactive solutions
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff and support personnel
  • Serve as primary accounting advisor and client relationship manager
  • Conduct onboarding and financial review meetings
  • Communicate with clients regarding accounting, reporting, compliance, and financial matters
  • Act as escalation point for accounting-related client concerns
  • Review and approve financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Oversee accounting-for-tax engagements and recurring monthly, quarterly, and annual engagements
  • Review reconciliations, journal entries, and adjusting entries
  • Collaborate with the Tax Department to support tax preparation and planning
  • Coordinate accounting projects necessary for tax filings
  • Participate in Fractional CFO engagements, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis
  • Prepare management reports and KPI dashboards
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to business owners
  • Lead and manage Agreed-Upon Procedures engagements
  • Manage compilations, reviews, and non-attest engagements
  • Prepare and review Indirect Cost Rate Proposals
  • Coordinate client requests and deliverables related to government-funded programs
  • Serve as internal point of contact for third-party audit firms
  • Coordinate and support Single Audit engagements
  • Facilitate communication between clients and external audit firms
  • Manage client deliverables, schedules, auditor requests, and engagement timelines
  • Assign work based on capacity and skillset
  • Review work product and coach team members
  • Develop training plans and performance improvement initiatives
  • Promote accountability, organization, and continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • Active CPA license
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 5+ years of public accounting or CPA firm experience
  • Experience managing multiple client engagements simultaneously
  • Strong QuickBooks Online expertise
  • Experience reviewing and preparing financial statements
  • Experience supervising staff accountants
  • Experience with accounting-for-tax engagements
  • Experience with AUPs, compilations, reviews, or attest-related engagements
  • Experience supporting Single Audit engagements and working with third-party auditors
  • Experience preparing or overseeing Indirect Cost Rate Proposals
  • Excellent client-facing communication skills
  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and ownership
  • Ability to proactively manage client relationships and coordinate work across departments
  • Ability to make informed accounting decisions and create solutions independently
