Job Description

Accounting Analyst supporting accurate financial reporting related to reinsurance contracts. Collaborating with multiple teams to ensure accuracy across premium, claims, and reinsurance accounting.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, analyze, and reconcile premium, loss, and commission transactions for proportional and excess-of-loss treaties
  • Process broker settlements, bordereaux, and reinsurance statements of account
  • Maintain accurate records in Duck Creek Reinsurance and our systems
  • Review ceding statements for accuracy, contract compliance, and proper cash settlement
  • Resolve discrepancies and investigate variances in technical accounting data
  • Ensure timely processing and payment of outgoing reinsurance claims
  • Support contract setup, monitoring, and performance analysis
  • Assist with process improvements, system enhancements, and audit requests
  • Provide data and ad-hoc analysis to finance, actuarial, claims, and operations teams

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or related field
  • 3+ years of technical accounting experience in insurance or reinsurance
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and reinsurance operations
  • Experience with Duck Creek or similar insurance/reinsurance systems
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
