Job Description
Accounting Analyst supporting accurate financial reporting related to reinsurance contracts. Collaborating with multiple teams to ensure accuracy across premium, claims, and reinsurance accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, analyze, and reconcile premium, loss, and commission transactions for proportional and excess-of-loss treaties
- Process broker settlements, bordereaux, and reinsurance statements of account
- Maintain accurate records in Duck Creek Reinsurance and our systems
- Review ceding statements for accuracy, contract compliance, and proper cash settlement
- Resolve discrepancies and investigate variances in technical accounting data
- Ensure timely processing and payment of outgoing reinsurance claims
- Support contract setup, monitoring, and performance analysis
- Assist with process improvements, system enhancements, and audit requests
- Provide data and ad-hoc analysis to finance, actuarial, claims, and operations teams
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or related field
- 3+ years of technical accounting experience in insurance or reinsurance
- Knowledge of accounting principles and reinsurance operations
- Experience with Duck Creek or similar insurance/reinsurance systems
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
