Job Description
Air Conditioning Technician servicing HVAC systems on Sandvik Mining equipment. Performing maintenance, repairs, improvements, and contractor coordination in Zambia.
Responsibilities:
- Service and repair air conditioning systems (HVAC) on all Sandvik equipment on site
- Analyze, prepare, plan and carry out small to medium sized improvements on machines and equipment, including major sized improvements if necessary
- Place orders for parts in liaison with supervisor and warehouse supervisor
- Lead actions performed by contractors working on related systems when necessary
- Conduct preventive maintenance and perform corrective actions
- Support planning and preparation, monitor outcomes, and document outcomes, root causes, time, and improvements
- Work in accordance with standard operating procedures
- Achieve maintenance targets
- Follow quality and cleanliness standards
- Communicate operational status and deviations
- Meet safety and housekeeping (5S) requirements
- Attend training and implement continuous improvements and development on a personal and operational level
Requirements:
- Craft Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning or equivalent qualification
- Advanced Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning is an added advantage
- Full Secondary/grade 12 certificate
- Must be a member of Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ)
- At least five years’ hands-on experience working in a similar role with exposure to air conditioning systems in mobile equipment
- Unrestricted valid driver’s licence with at least 2 years driving experience
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems and components
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Commitment to delivering high-quality service that meets client expectations
- Must be physically and medically fit to work in a mining environment, including meeting all customer vaccination requirements
