Job Description

Application Development Engineer building UI/UX healthcare applications at Curana Health. Focused on supporting clinical workflows and secure data exchange.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain applications using React, Angular, Vue, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and shadcn/ui
  • Implement reusable front-end components and scalable backend integrations
  • Ensure responsive, accessible, and performant application interfaces
  • Translate business requirements into intuitive user experiences and wireframes
  • Conduct user research, workflow mapping, and usability testing
  • Build and enhance features related to healthcare workflows (clinical, administrative, or patient-facing)
  • Integrate applications with healthcare systems using HL7 v2, FHIR, REST APIs, or SMART on FHIR
  • Collaborate with product, data, QA, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality releases
  • Troubleshoot production issues and support defect resolution
  • Participate in code reviews, technical planning, and documentation

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of experience in application development (front-end or full-stack)
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one major UI framework (React, Angular, or Vue)
  • Experience with design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch
  • Hands-on experience with HL7, FHIR, RESTful APIs, or EHR/EMR integrations
  • Strong understanding of healthcare workflows, HIPAA, and secure data handling
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Agile methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
