Job Description
Technical Lead architecting Oracle Retail RMS and Allocation solutions for enterprise retail systems. Leading integrations, production support, performance optimisation and Oracle Retail development teams.
Responsibilities:
- Own technical architecture and solution design for Oracle RMS, Allocation and associated integrations
- Provide technical direction across the broader Oracle Retail v11 suite
- Translate functional and business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Lead High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation
- Conduct technical feasibility assessments, impact analysis and effort estimation
- Lead and mentor Oracle Retail developers and technical specialists
- Allocate development activities and monitor delivery against agreed timelines
- Review code, technical designs and deliverables for quality and compliance
- Establish and enforce coding, design, integration and documentation standards
- Oversee integrations between RMS, Allocation and other Oracle Retail modules using Oracle Retail Integration Bus (RIB)
- Establish integration architecture, data governance, reliability and maintainability best practices
- Assess downstream and upstream impacts of changes
- Act as primary technical escalation point for critical production issues
- Lead root-cause analysis and resolution of application, integration and batch-processing issues
- Drive performance optimisation across SQL, PL/SQL, batch processing, RIB messaging and Unix processes
- Implement sustainable corrective and preventative solutions for recurring issues
- Oversee patch management and technical upgrade planning
- Define environment and release strategies across Development, Test, UAT and Production
- Assess release and deployment risks
- Coordinate cutover and production implementation activities
- Support batch scheduling and operational processes using Autosys and/or Control-M
- Collaborate with functional leads, business stakeholders, project managers and technical teams
- Coordinate with Oracle Support on product issues, patches and strategic technical matters
- Advise project and program leadership on solution options, risks, dependencies and effort
- Contribute to technology roadmaps and future-state Oracle Retail planning
- Support pre-sales and solutioning activities, including technical solution development and effort estimation
Requirements:
- 9–12 years of relevant technology experience, with substantial experience in Oracle Retail
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS) and Oracle Retail Allocation
- Demonstrated experience working with Oracle Retail v11 environments
- Proven experience leading Oracle Retail development or technical teams
- Experience delivering complex enhancements, integrations and production support within large retail environments
- Experience with technical estimation, impact assessment and solution design
- Deep technical expertise in Oracle RMS and Allocation
- Strong knowledge of the broader Oracle Retail v11 suite
- Advanced Oracle SQL and PL/SQL
- Oracle Retail Integration Bus (RIB)
- Oracle Retail batch architecture and processing
- Performance tuning and optimisation
- Unix/Linux shell scripting
- Autosys and/or Control-M
- Integration architecture and troubleshooting
- Environment, release and patch management
- Technical design and documentation
- Production support and root-cause analysis
- Strong understanding of pack management, purchase order management, allocation, inventory management, merchandise and inventory movements, and retail system integration and batch-processing dependencies
- Demonstrated experience leading technical development teams
- Strong architecture and solution-design capability
- Ability to mentor developers and establish technical standards
- Excellent analytical and complex problem-solving skills
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions
- Comfortable working with senior technology, functional and business stakeholders
