Job Description

Associate Director leading centralized monitoring and clinical data analytics at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Overseeing risk mitigation, teams, data systems, quality, and sponsor-facing business development.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide tactical and strategic planning, operational oversight, support, and direct supervision of the Clinical Data Liaison function within Data Analytics
  • Work with functional area leads to evaluate operational-risk signals and advocate for risk-mitigation strategies
  • Oversee Centralized Monitoring processes, ensuring timelines and contracts are adhered to and quality standards are met for assigned projects
  • Manage resources and workload of direct reports
  • Support department infrastructure through leadership of support services, database administration, performance measurement, and application-system development
  • Complete ad hoc projects for the Department Head to improve departmental quality and cost effectiveness
  • Undertake business-development activities, including participation in sponsor meetings
  • Represent the department to senior management and cross-departmental forums

Requirements:

  • Previous experience providing the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job, comparable to 10+ years, or equivalent and relevant combination of education, training, and experience
  • 5+ years of management responsibility
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Deep industry and clinical-trial-specific functional knowledge
  • Excellent coaching, mentoring, and teaching skills
  • Expertise leading and motivating teams
  • Strong analytical skills, including extracting meaning from data and applying it to real-world problems
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills
  • Strong technical skills interacting with data handling, analysis, and visualization tools
  • Leadership-level communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to represent the department to senior management and cross-departmental forums
  • Ability to work under high pressure and maintain intense concentration
  • Constant attention to visual and mental detail
  • Ability to multitask constantly
  • Frequent interaction with clients and associates
  • Ability to work long, varied hours occasionally
