Job Description
Backend/Data Engineer developing scalable backend services for AI-powered features at Wider (ex.HyperAd). Collaborating with teams to integrate data pipelines and manage infrastructure on GCP.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python
- Build and optimize data pipelines and ETL workflows
- Design and implement REST APIs and internal service integrations
- Integrate and work with AI systems and LLM APIs
- Develop, test, and optimize AI prompts (Prompt Engineering – required)
- Build backend services that support AI-driven features
- Architect and manage data storage solutions (SQL-based systems required)
- Work with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services
- Utilize cloud-native services such as Cloud Run, Cloud Tasks, Pub/Sub, and BigQuery
- Ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability of backend systems
- Implement monitoring, logging, and observability best practices
- Collaborate with product, frontend, and AI teams to deliver intelligent features
- Participate in system architecture discussions and long-term technical planning
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a Backend or Data Engineer
- Strong hands-on experience with Python
- Strong experience designing RESTful APIs
- Proven experience working with AI systems / LLM APIs
- Hands-on experience with Prompt Engineering (required)
- Solid experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL / MySQL or similar)
- Experience with BigQuery or large-scale analytical databases
- Experience working with GCP
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalable architecture
- Experience designing data models and optimizing queries
- Strong ownership and accountability
