Job Description
Remote Business Analyst shaping data product vision, roadmaps, and technical requirements for an IT company. Translating stakeholder needs into Agile delivery-ready work for data engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Co-develop the product vision and roadmap with the Product Owner
- Translate business strategy and stakeholder needs into a prioritised plan for data products
- Engage stakeholders to understand goals and pain points, define success metrics, and articulate data product value
- Assess value, effort, dependencies and risk to shape and prioritise initiatives
- Turn roadmap items into delivery-ready epics and user stories with clear acceptance criteria
- Manage the backlog in JIRA and AirFocus
- Define technical requirements covering data sources, integration points, data quality, lineage, security and performance
- Collaborate with data engineers and architects on pragmatic, scalable solutions
- Communicate roadmap and progress to stakeholders and leadership
- Track realised value after release and use feedback to guide future roadmap decisions
Requirements:
- Experience helping to define product vision, roadmaps or prioritisation frameworks, ideally for data products
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills, including with senior audiences
- Proven use of business analysis techniques to drive business change
- Hands-on Agile delivery experience, including epics, user stories, JIRA and AirFocus
- End-to-end experience with data products, from integration through to support
- Familiarity with core data concepts such as ETL/ELT, data modelling, transformation and curation
- Experience working in global, virtual teams
- Experience in clinical trial data (nice to have)
- Understanding of regulated environments such as GxP and data privacy (nice to have)
- Familiarity with product management practices such as OKRs, value-based prioritisation and product discovery (nice to have)
