Job Description

Buyer III procuring complex aerospace and defense supplies for TSC’s AISR division. Managing suppliers, purchase orders, compliance, costs, quality, and delivery schedules.

Responsibilities:

  • Procure traditional and non-traditional supplies and services supporting the AISR Division
  • Ensure procurement transactions comply with company policies, procedures, and federal, state, and local regulations
  • Partner with engineers and internal customers on source selection and procurements meeting schedule, cost, and quality requirements
  • Develop and recommend secondary or additional sources
  • Review and negotiate supplier terms and conditions
  • Select and maintain sources of supply using progressive purchasing techniques
  • Review source justifications and commercial item determinations for compliance
  • Review, track, and process Purchase Requests
  • Resolve delivery, quality, and pricing problems with vendors
  • Enter and update orders accurately in Costpoint
  • Monitor outstanding lead times and schedules
  • Perform routine Purchase Order reconciliation
  • Identify future procurement needs and new supplier sources
  • Notify suppliers of rejections and defective-material costs
  • Expedite deliveries and obtain approvals for alternative procurement methods when needed
  • Support Planning, Shipping & Receiving, and Inventory efforts
  • Maintain procurement files and supply chain metrics
  • Conduct supplier evaluations
  • Resolve discrepant materials internally and with suppliers
  • Deliver procurements to customer sites

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or related field and 2–4 years of progressive procurement experience supporting federal contracts, or High School Diploma with 8–10 years of work experience
  • Experience in CPSR compliance and audit support
  • Proficient experience with Costpoint 8.0 Procurement Planning, Purchasing, and Material Management Modules
  • DoD procurement experience and knowledge of FAR / DFAR procurement regulations
  • Familiarity with parts, materials, and process requirements for aerospace and defense applications
  • Experience with foreign supplier sourcing and procurements involving ITAR/EAR
  • Experience placing high-complexity foreign and domestic POs/Subcontracts and processing high-volume POs
  • Ability to multitask in an adaptable, fast-paced, changing environment
  • Knowledge of cross-functional duties involving Accounting, Contracts, and Program Management
  • Experience with supplier negotiations
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check, security investigation, and drug screening required
  • Must meet applicable federal contractor nondiscrimination and affirmative-action requirements
