Job Description
Home-visits buyer valuing and purchasing jewellery, antiques, and collectibles for WeBuyVintage, a UK vintage retailer. Travelling across Wales to customers’ homes and occasional roadshows.
Responsibilities:
- Attend multiple home-visit appointments per day across 3 or 4 days per week
- Provide expert valuations and purchase offers for customers’ antiques, jewellery and collectibles
- Quickly assess items presented for purchase
- Present a professional, informative and respectful demeanour with customers
- Negotiate purchase offers when required
- Explain why items may not be suitable for purchase
- Attend regular buying roadshow events as an expert and buyer from time to time
- Travel daily to customers’ homes across Wales
Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience buying and/or selling antiques, collectibles, gold and jewellery
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven track record in building customer relationships
- Confident negotiation skills with good commercial awareness
- Keen interest in gold, jewellery, silver, cameras, binoculars, toys, costume jewellery, writing instruments, militaria, music or movie memorabilia, or similar vintage specialisms
- Experience buying and/or selling antiques, collectibles and jewellery as a dealer or valuer in an auction setting
- Commercially savvy salesperson and negotiator
- Personable, likeable and trustworthy
- Willingness to travel longer distances, with drive times generally within 2 hours
- Willingness to stay away from home when locations necessitate
- Full UK driving licence and own car
- Ability to work 3 or 4 days per week across Monday to Saturday
