Job Description
Antiques buyer valuing and purchasing jewellery, gold and collectibles during South East customer home visits. WeBuyVintage is a UK face-to-face buyer of jewellery, antiques and collectibles.
Responsibilities:
- Attend multiple home visit appointments per day across 3 or 4 days per week as an expert and buyer
- Travel to customers’ homes across the South East, with drive times generally targeted within 2 hours
- Provide valuations and offers for customers’ jewellery, antiques, collectibles and other items
- Assess items quickly for potential purchase
- Present a professional, informative and respectful demeanour with customers
- Make purchase offers and negotiate confidently when required
- Explain why items may not be suitable for purchase
- Attend regular buying roadshow events as an expert and buyer from time to time
Requirements:
- Keen interest in Gold, Jewellery, Silver, Cameras, Binoculars, Toys, Costume Jewellery, Writing Instruments, Militaria, Music or Movie Memorabilia, and similar vintage specialisms
- Experience buying and/or selling antiques, collectibles and jewellery as a dealer or valuer in an auction setting
- Demonstrable experience buying and/or selling antiques, collectibles, gold and jewellery
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven track record in building customer relationships
- Confident negotiator with good commercial awareness
- Commercially savvy salesperson
- Personable, likeable and trustworthy
- Full UK driving licence
- Own car
- Willingness to travel longer distances and stay away from home when locations necessitate this
