Job Description

Scopist reviewing and proofreading legal transcripts against audio for Esquire’s legal support services. Preparing accurate final records while meeting deadlines remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and proofread legal transcripts for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, and formatting according to Esquire’s style guides
  • Verify transcript content against audio to ensure a verbatim and error-free record
  • Prepare final transcripts by applying digital signatures and submitting them for production
  • Maintain proper archival of files and complete required reporting and logs
  • Prioritize and organize workload to meet deadlines and accommodate changes
  • Support service partner programs through timely communication and quality assurance
  • Promote and model Esquire’s values in daily work and team collaboration
  • Produce consistently accurate and high-quality transcripts
  • Meet or exceed transcript deadlines without compromising quality
  • Communicate professionally with reporters, clients, and internal teams

Requirements:

  • Possess and maintain current Texas Certified Shorthand Reporter (CSR) license
  • Minimum touch-typing speed of 70 wpm with a high degree of accuracy
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to problem-solve and prioritize tasks
  • Proficiency with CAT software editing tools and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with digital transcript workflows and archival methods
  • Professional demeanor and client-first mindset
