Job Description
Axios reporter conducting real-time news surveillance and writing quick-turn spot stories. Monitoring key developments and flagging them to experts in the newsroom’s 24/7 nerve center.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct real-time news surveillance
- Write quick-turn spot news stories
- Monitor developments on key stories and flag them to experts
- Serve as part of the newsroom’s 24/7 nerve center
- Collaborate with a team of journalists to produce quality content
- Use AI tools to enhance productivity, creativity, and efficiency
Requirements:
- Personal passion for news and fast-twitch journalistic reflexes
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with a team of journalists
- Writing experience in a fast-paced news environment
- Demonstrated experience monitoring and activating on news
- Belief in Smart Brevity as the core writing style of Axios
- Experience working across teams to produce quality content
- Demonstrated knowledge of the digital and social media landscape
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to actively develop AI literacy and use AI tools responsibly and effectively
