Job Description

Chief Engineer leading weapons systems development in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Collaborating with various stakeholders and ensuring compliance in advanced composite projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as technical lead for Continuous Composites’ programs involving weapons systems.
  • Collaborate with customers, including DoW government sponsors and prime contractors.
  • Review project and customer goals, develop technical requirements, identify relevant trade studies, assess technical risks, and establish risk mitigation plans.
  • Work with project managers to develop and maintain detailed project plans, including budgets, schedules, and resource allocations.
  • Lead internal and external resources to design and develop CF3D® solutions that satisfy customer requirements.
  • Produce reports that bring together concept definitions, requirements, verification test plans and methods, analysis results, and technical recommendations.
  • Lead the design review process and establish technical maturity milestones and qualification tests, ensuring programs progress through the required DoW Technology Readiness and Manufacturing Readiness Levels.
  • Collaborate with senior technical experts to establish technical standards to achieve technical excellence in the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant DoW regulations, standards, and quality requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant technical role, specializing in weapons system development.
  • Experience leading a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • DoW development program experience, including customer interface, requirements development, test planning, execution, understanding of Technology Readiness Levels and Manufacturing Readiness Levels and their relevance.
  • Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to synthesize and summarize complex technical information.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to drive technical results in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Proven history of solving complex customer problems.
