Job Description
Clinical Trial Nurse Navigator helping blood cancer patients identify and enroll in clinical trials at Blood Cancer United. Educating families on treatment options and supporting informed care decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain an independent caseload of patients seeking enrollment into clinical trials
- Assess, educate, and objectively present treatment options, including clinical trials
- Help patients overcome obstacles to clinical trial enrollment
- Collaborate with Information Resource Center staff to educate and support patients and family members
- Serve as a clinical-trials consultant to the Information Resource Center
- Support development of clinical-trial-related materials and programs
- Maintain and increase knowledge of hematologic cancers, blood and bone marrow transplant, and psychosocial aspects of living with cancer
- Contribute to continuous improvement of Clinical Trial Support Center procedures
- Develop effective relationships with Blood Cancer United, trial-site staff, investigators, sponsors, patients, and professional organizations
- Apply ethical standards and federal regulations governing human-subjects research
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
- Current RN licensure required
- Oncology experience preferred
- Specialty training in Oncology/Hematology preferred
- OCN certification preferred
- Clinical research experience preferred
- Master’s degree preferred; Master’s degree in a non-nursing area considered
- Ability and desire to excel in independent work and in a team environment
- Spanish speaking preferred
- Outstanding critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to independent learning and skill enhancement
- Expertise in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and OneNote
- Reliable internet with minimum download and upload speeds of 50 Mbps
