Job Description

Cloud Operations Engineer managing Microsoft Azure services in a German software company. Collaborating with teams to ensure smooth operations and continuous service improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in building, implementing and operating services in Microsoft Azure (with team support)
  • Help ensure smooth operation and continuous monitoring of our services
  • Assist in adapting and optimizing our cloud environments to current workloads
  • Participate in automating recurring cloud processes
  • Support responsible account management in compliance with GDPR
  • Work closely with our development and test teams to continuously improve our products

Requirements:

  • Residence in Germany or Portugal
  • Initial practical experience with Azure or another public cloud (e.g., through internships, working student positions, thesis work, or personal projects)
  • Basic knowledge of container technologies (e.g., Docker; initial exposure to Kubernetes is a plus)
  • Interest in Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) and willingness to learn
  • Basic understanding of monitoring and logging concepts
  • Initial experience with Git and version control
  • Fundamental knowledge of Linux and initial experience with Bash scripting
  • Good written and spoken German and English
  • Strong willingness to learn, structured working style, and enjoyment of teamwork
  • Not required but a plus if you have initial exposure to: AWS services or GCP; monitoring and analysis tools such as Grafana or Prometheus; log aggregation systems like Loki; automation tools (e.g., Ansible); Windows Server and PowerShell scripting; CI/CD pipelines, ideally GitLab CI
