Job Description
Content Writer creating SEO-optimized content about diamonds and jewelry for Rare Carat’s online marketplace. Managing publishing tasks in WordPress and optimizing for search engines and AI platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Write clear, compelling, and accurate content about diamonds, jewelry, and the engagement ring buying process for various audiences and formats
- Publish, edit, and format content directly in WordPress, including uploading images, creating layouts, and ensuring mobile responsiveness
- Make basic HTML edits within WordPress to optimize formatting, add custom elements, and troubleshoot display issues
- Research keywords, optimize content for search engines (title tags, meta descriptions, headers, internal linking), and implement SEO best practices
- Adapt content strategies for visibility in AI-powered search platforms (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, etc.)
- Monitor content performance and collaborate with the marketing team to refine strategies based on analytics and ranking data
- Stay current on diamond industry trends, competitor content, and search algorithm updates to keep our content fresh and authoritative
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in content writing, preferably for e-commerce, DTC, or technical industries
- Proficiency in WordPress (publishing, editing, media management, basic troubleshooting)
- Working knowledge of HTML for content formatting and basic customization
- Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals (keyword research, on-page optimization, content structure)
- Familiarity with AI search optimization and how content appears in AI-generated responses
- Experience with SEO tools (Google Analytics, Google Search Console, or similar platforms)
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail
- Ability to translate complex technical topics into accessible, engaging content
- Self-motivated and able to manage multiple content projects independently
