Job Description
Creative Director steering creative vision and integrated campaigns for Pirate Ship's ecommerce shipping software. Leading a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
Responsibilities:
- Chart the course: Partner with product and leadership to set the creative vision and steer integrated campaigns across channels, agencies, and internal crews.
- Bottle the legend: Define and evolve Pirate Ship’s voice, tone, and visual identity, ensuring every story hook feels unmistakably us: fun, clear, and fearless.
- Raise the crew: Lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary creative team, setting the bar for craft, curiosity, and creative courage.
- Spin tall tales: Guide big ideas from first spark to final execution, turning business goals into bold brand moments that earn attention and loyalty.
- Unbury the treasure: Translate customer insight, strategy, and performance data into creative direction that outsmarts the competition.
- Guard the colors: Ensure brand consistency and excellence across all touchpoints—digital, social, video, experiential, and beyond.
- Balance the tides: Align creative ambition with real-world constraints, managing priorities, timelines, and resources to keep the ship sailing smoothly.
- Light the signal fires: Champion a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and smart risk-taking that makes great work inevitable.
- Ride the changing seas: Thrive in a fast-moving, remote-first environment where adaptability and clarity matter as much as vision.

- Sail from any port: Work remotely while staying closely connected to your crew through chat, voice, and video, with quarterly in-person gatherings to plot the next great voyage.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of creative and advertising experience.
- 5+ years of experience managing creative teams in an in-house creative team or agency.
- Team-player that’s all about “yes, and.”
- Familiarity with content marketing.
- History of creative leadership.
- You can do it, not just command it.
- Holistic view of branding.
- Experience in high-growth startups.
- Strong leadership and organization skills.
- YARRrrr! The ability to speak like a pirate!
