Job Description
Cybersecurity practitioners advising Mercor’s AI benchmark through paid remote expert interviews. Sharing enterprise defense workflows, evaluation criteria, and feedback on task taxonomy.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in two to three one-hour video conversations with the Mercor team over roughly four weeks
- Discuss how enterprise cybersecurity work happens, including tools, queues, and where judgment matters
- Explain how teams measure triage, investigation, containment, threat hunting, detection rule, and patch quality
- Discuss where AI assistance helps or hinders current cybersecurity work
- Provide feedback on what would make an AI cybersecurity benchmark credible
- Review Mercor’s draft task taxonomy and identify missing or mislabeled areas and different weighting considerations
- Describe patterns rather than specific incidents and exclude confidential information
- Nothing to build, label, or submit
Requirements:
- Current or recent hands-on practitioner in enterprise security
- Experience as a SOC analyst or SOC lead (tier 2 and above), incident responder, digital forensics investigator, detection engineer, threat hunter, application security or product security engineer, or security engineer involved in a red team engagement
- Experience with an EDR and SIEM stack such as CrowdStrike Falcon, Microsoft Defender and Sentinel, Splunk, SentinelOne, Elastic, or similar is a plus
- Security leaders are welcome if they remain close to the work
- Must be US-based
- Must be able to work as an independent contractor
- Unable to support H1-B or STEM OPT candidates at this time
- Must avoid sharing confidential information about current or former employers or customers
