Job Description
Data Engineer role at iFood optimizing cloud data resources and building governance solutions. Collaborating with engineering, architecture, and data teams for efficient data management.
Responsibilities:
- Develop pipelines and processes to collect, transform, and analyze cost and usage data from the data platform;
- Build metrics, dashboards, and indicators to monitor resource efficiency and data usage;
- Support the creation of cost monitoring solutions, anomaly detection, and identification of optimization opportunities;
- Work with usage data from platforms such as Databricks and AWS to understand how resources are being used;
- Help develop tools and processes that make cost management easier for data domains;
- Collaborate with engineers and architects to identify improvements in platform usage and propose optimizations;
- Support cost governance and data platform efficiency initiatives;
- Participate in building solutions that help democratize access to platform usage and cost information;
Requirements:
- Experience or interest in data engineering (data pipelines, processing, data modeling);
- Knowledge of SQL for data analysis and manipulation;
- Knowledge of Python for developing scripts and data pipelines;
- Familiarity with cloud data environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure);
- Interest in understanding how data platforms are used and how to optimize their usage;
- Basic understanding of Data Lake, Data Warehouse, or Lakehouse concepts;
- Experience or interest in working with Spark or distributed processing;
- Ability to analyze data to identify patterns, issues, or opportunities for improvement;
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams;
