Job Description
Data Product Owner collaborating in multidisciplinary squads for data products and analytics on Azure and GCP. Managing backlogs, requirements, and delivering data-oriented solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a Data Product Owner in multidisciplinary squads, defining, prioritizing and managing the backlog of data products, Analytics and AI in Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments.
- Elicit and translate business needs into requirements, metrics and data-driven solutions.
- Build and communicate the vision, strategy and roadmap for data products, aligning business objectives with platform capabilities.
- Write epics, features and user stories with clear acceptance criteria, taking into account data quality, governance and security.
- Prioritize the backlog based on business value, impact and effort, ensuring incremental deliveries.
- Serve as a bridge between business and technology, collaborating with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Analysts and Architects.
- Monitor the lifecycle of data products, from discovery through deployment, adoption and continuous evolution.
- Participate in data architecture definitions, supporting topics such as ingestion, transformation, modeling, integration and governance.
- Define and track product performance indicators, evaluating adoption, quality and the value delivered to the business.
- Ensure compliance with data security, privacy and governance practices.
- Support agile ceremonies and promote the evolution of practices such as Data Products, Analytics Self-Service, Data Mesh and modern Data and AI solutions.
Requirements:
- Solid experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager or Data Product Owner working with data products, analytics, data platforms or Artificial Intelligence.
- Experience in Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments.
- Knowledge of modern data platforms, such as: Azure: Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Synapse Analytics, Power BI, Azure Machine Learning and Azure OpenAI; and GCP: BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Composer, Vertex AI, Looker and Looker Studio.
- Knowledge of data architecture, Data Warehouse, Lakehouse and Data Products.
- Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, data integration and data processing.
- Knowledge of modeling, data quality, governance, cataloging, metadata and data lineage.
- Ability to discuss data solutions and architectures with technical teams, considering scalability, performance, security, cost and governance.
- Experience with agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, SAFe or similar, working in multidisciplinary squads.
- Knowledge of SQL, with the ability to interpret and validate queries during technical refinements.
