Job Description
Design Manager overseeing colocation and hyper-scale data center projects with global clients. Managing design teams and ensuring projects meet client requirements on schedule and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee a wide variety of colocation and hyper-scale data center projects
- Manage the design of colocation and hyper-scale data centers
- Conduct site due diligence and campus planning
- Develop conceptual/schematic/detailed design through construction documents
- Handle construction administration
- Lead data center due diligence and design teams
- Deliver projects that meet client’s requirements on schedule and quality
- Host and attend meetings with clients and external stakeholders
- Proactively manage and communicate project changes
- Identify problems early and develop creative solutions
- Develop technical and financial proposals for data center design projects
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- ten (10) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Master’s degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (preferred)
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Architecture License (preferred)
- 12 years of relevant experience in design and/or project management (preferred)
- Lean Six Sigma Certification (preferred)
- Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Professional (preferred)
- Active or recent leadership in data center and mission-critical trade organization (preferred)
- 12 years in colocation and/or hyper-scale data center design management & engineering (preferred)
