Job Description
DevOps Engineer building and supporting scalable AWS and Nutanix infrastructure for DysrupIT’s technology consulting clients. Automating deployments, monitoring platforms, and resolving incidents across enterprise environments.
Responsibilities:
- Build scalable, reliable, and efficient infrastructure systems
- Collaborate with development, operations, and QA teams to design and implement DevOps practices
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code
- Support the platform, including configuration, health monitoring, issue resolution, proactive maintenance, and improvement initiatives
- Manage and scale AWS and Nutanix cloud environments for availability, security, and cost optimization
- Set up, configure, and monitor AWS clusters
- Create and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, and deployment
- Automate repetitive tasks and monitor application and infrastructure performance
- Support platform installations, configuration, and health
- Work with Solution Architects, Project Managers, and other cross-functional Nephos teams to deliver end-to-end system solutions
- Provide guidance on scalable, performant, and secure system architecture and design
- Support platform version releases, including testing, use cases, and deployments
- Own Incident, Problem, Service Request, and Change records; investigate issues, restore services, and maintain accurate records
- Attend the weekly CAB where needed
- Create and maintain knowledge articles and work instructions
Requirements:
- 5+ years in a DevOps or related infrastructure role
- Proven experience installing, configuring, and supporting enterprise applications
- Strong experience with Linux operating systems, including Ubuntu and Red Hat, and Windows
- Strong scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, or Bash
- Excellent issue analysis, troubleshooting, and fault-finding skills
- Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and VPN networking protocols
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
- Extensive experience with AWS and Nutanix
- Experience with Service Management ticketing systems such as Jira
- Understanding of GitHub repositories and file-sharing technologies
- Git knowledge
- Database knowledge
- Knowledge of ITIL
- Strong customer-centric attitude and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively
- Flexible, organised, and self-motivated
- Working hours of 9–5 UK hours during onboarding and transition, with flexibility for occasional out-of-hours upgrades, changes, and major incidents
- Nice to have: microservices architecture experience
- Nice to have: familiarity with serverless computing such as AWS Lambda or Google Functions
- Nice to have: database management experience with MongoDB, MySQL, or other databases
- Nice to have: Git branching strategies, Agile and Scrum, Delinea, data governance, and certificate application and renewal experience
