Job Description
Digital Architect guiding Alberta government digital service architecture and transformation. Leading agile solution design, implementation, integration, and technical standards for citizen-centered services.
Responsibilities:
- Work as part of cross-functional program review or product delivery teams
- Participate in field research, backlog definition and refinement, sprint planning and execution
- Lead the solution architecture of digital services
- Develop overall architectural plans with citizen-centered design and agile software approaches
- Uncover existing system context and provide technical discovery and feasibility recommendations/prototypes
- Provide and own solution designs for iterative implementation
- Analyze impacts, exposure, and risk related to solution design
- Guide implementation of digital services and facilitate frequent product delivery
- Determine tactical integration approaches and target system boundaries/interactions
- Identify and promote reuse of common components and capabilities
- Guide detailed solution implementation designs
- Review and contribute to code changes for user stories and technical tasks
- Coach and mentor the product team
- Contribute to the architectural vision for a platform of user-centric services
- Contribute to principles, metrics, and standards for service quality and delivery
- Present software architecture information through documents, diagrams, and presentations
- Participate in development and continuous improvement of the architecture practice
Requirements:
- Strong technical understanding of current and emerging technologies
- Strong business acumen and project leadership skills
- Ability to work with human-centered design approaches, agile methodology, and modern data practices
- Ability to provide solution designs supporting iterative implementation
- Ability to analyze impacts, exposure, and risk related to solution design
- Ability to determine integration approaches and system boundaries/interactions
- Ability to review and contribute to code changes
- Ability to create architecture documents, diagrams, and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to provide coaching and mentorship to the product team
