Job Description
Director leading YA Group’s accident reconstruction investigations, engineering analysis, and client services. Managing experts, collision simulations, technical reports, and client relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accident reconstruction experts.
- Oversee project execution, ensuring quality work, strong client service, and on-time deliverables.
- Manage client relationships and identify opportunities for new and repeat business.
- Support business development activities, including conferences, networking, and industry engagement.
- Ensure workload is evenly distributed across the team.
- Conduct field investigations and document collision scenes using advanced forensic technology.
- Analyze vehicle damage and supporting crash-related data.
- Process 3D scan files and reconstruction evidence.
- Develop collision models and visualizations with technical specialists.
- Perform crash simulations using reconstruction software.
- Apply engineering analysis to determine speeds, forces, and vehicle dynamics.
- Coordinate with clients to set up site visits and complete deliverables on projects.
- Create reports detailing the accident reconstruction process, findings, and conclusions.
- Provide reports to clients to assist with determining contributory factors of an accident.
- Review reports and deliverables to ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency.
- Research papers and journals related to vehicular accident reconstruction to advance scientific reconstruction techniques.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
- 15+ years of experience in biomechanics, accident reconstruction, premises liability, or related work
- PE license, ACTAR certification, and/or SAE certification
- Advanced expertise in collision dynamics, including impact and departure speeds, forces, and trajectories
- Strong background in automotive engineering and control systems
- Extensive experience working with insurance carriers, attorneys, and/or adjusters
- Experience performing computer simulations
- Highly proficient in CAD
- Prior deposition and courtroom testimony experience
- Willingness to travel to remote site locations as needed
