Job Description
Director of Accounting Operations leading financial shared services for Warner Music Group. Overseeing compliance, reporting and financial management in a creative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure effective financial internal controls; identify and remediate control gaps
- Ensure Accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated statements by investigating and monitoring discrepancies against expectations and providing explanations
- Lead and mentor diverse team of accounting managers and analysts onshore and offshore to prepare financial information and reports
- Acquisition integration as needed
- Provide excellent customer service and develop/maintain relationships with business unit finance organizations
- Develop an environment of constant process improvement that results in definable projects delivered timely and resulting in cost savings
- Facilitate and bridge gaps between Finance, Accounting, IT, Strategy and Operations
Requirements:
- BA/BS in Accounting, Masters of Accounting Preferred
- 8-10 years of strong financial management or controllership experience
- At least 4 years in a Shared Services Leadership role
- 3-5 years of experience in a controllership type role supporting executive leadership at the CFO level
- Royalty Accounting Experience a plus
- Large, multinational company experience
- Ability to achieve results through influence over external and internal parties who are not direct reports
- Solid project management skills, from initial idea through execution
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including GAAP
- CPA a plus
