Job Description
Editorial Team Lead overseeing Fastmarkets’ Ukraine agriculture price assessments and Black Sea grains coverage. Leading reporters, maintaining IOSCO-compliant benchmarks, and expanding market intelligence.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the daily publication of Black Sea grain and oilseed price assessments, including CPT and FOB Ukraine wheat and corn, Russian wheat, sunflower oil, and barley
- Ensure assessments comply with IOSCO standards, Fastmarkets methodologies, and price specifications
- Guide pricing decisions, review assessments, and uphold rigorous market-grounded methodology
- Produce original, forward-looking market content and analytical commentary
- Manage a team of price reporters, set objectives, and conduct appraisals with the Regional Managing Editor
- Mentor and coach team members and support onboarding and coverage continuity
- Build a positive, high-performance team culture
- Engage traders, exporters, merchandisers, and other market participants through calls, meetings, conferences, and trade events
- Identify opportunities for new price launches and expanded Black Sea and European coverage
- Present at industry events, conferences, and webinars
- Support cross-regional EMEA Agriculture & Biofuels projects and global editorial direction
- Ensure proper processes and documentation for launching, amending, or discontinuing prices
- Liaise with compliance on IOSCO-related queries and maintain PRA standards
Requirements:
- Deep, hands-on knowledge of Black Sea and European grains and oilseeds markets, including fundamentals, trade flows, pricing dynamics, and global supply chains
- Experience in price reporting or commodity market journalism
- Ability to produce rigorous, market-grounded assessments under daily deadline pressure
- Strong, clear, concise, analytically sharp writing skills
- Familiarity with IOSCO principles and credible price reporting agency standards
- Good organisational skills and confidence coordinating and supporting a small team
- Comfort engaging senior traders, exporters, merchandisers, and other market participants
- Proactive, problem-solving mindset and commitment to editorial integrity and accuracy
- Prior team leadership or line management experience in a PRA, media, or commodity trading environment
- Ukrainian, Russian, Romanian, or Bulgarian language skills are a meaningful advantage
- Experience presenting at conferences, webinars, or industry events
- Familiarity with financial and physical derivatives relevant to grains and oilseeds
- Willingness to work flexibly and contribute as a strong team player
