Job Description

Electrical Engineer II working on hyperscale data centers at DLB Associates. Collaborating with senior engineers to develop electrical designs and construction documents.

Responsibilities:

  • This position is in DLB’s Mission Critical Department and focuses primarily on hyperscale data centers and related mission critical facilities.
  • The Electrical Engineer II will have the opportunity to work with and collaborate with senior design staff to advance their electrical design skills.
  • They will learn, through hands-on application, how to design a wide variety of mission critical projects.
  • This person will work as part of the Engineering Team and interact closely with the Project Management Team to produce construction documents, develop and edit project specifications and assist in the construction administration process.
  • The Electrical Engineer II will receive general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.
  • May work independently, consistently exercising discretion and independent judgment on individual work, or may work under immediate supervision.
  • May serve as trade lead on routine projects of limited scope.
  • The Electrical Engineer II will communicate and operate in line with organizational goals and values, as well as departmental objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical from ABET accredited institution
  • Minimum of three years of electrical engineering experience
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of electrical systems found in buildings including single/three phase power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, grounding and life safety systems
  • Knowledge of codes and specifications for the design of electrical systems including National Electric Code, Life Safety and Energy Conservation Codes
  • Knowledge of technical / design software including short circuit coordination and arc flash studies, equipment sizing and lighting calculations
  • Skilled at producing drawings and visual aids using AutoCAD and Revit
  • Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management
  • Skilled in performing code analysis including selection of equipment, wiring, etc. to meet code requirements
  • Ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows, optimize operational processes, and contribute to company-wide innovation.
  • Ability to work successfully in a remote environment thru effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness and resourcefulness in a distraction free workspace
  • Ability to follow company and site safety requirements
  • Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports and correspondence
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information)
  • Ability to communicate effectively directly with clients and at times serve as primary point of client contact
  • Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervision
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines
  • Organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
