Job Description
Engineering Director owning GoMining’s Bitcoin mining platform strategy, architecture, reliability, and delivery. Leading platform teams and AI-first engineering across shared infrastructure supporting multiple products.
Responsibilities:
- Own the technology strategy, architecture, and roadmap for the GoMining Platform.
- Build scalable shared infrastructure used across multiple products and engineering teams.
- Define which capabilities should be centralized at Platform level and which should remain within individual product teams.
- Drive major architectural and technical decisions.
- Identify scalability and architectural bottlenecks before they become business-critical.
- Balance long-term platform investments with immediate product and commercial priorities.
- Own platform reliability, availability, latency, scalability, and operational performance.
- Define and improve SLAs, DORA metrics, engineering performance, and incident-management practices.
- Improve release stability, engineering velocity, and system resilience.
- Lead post-incident improvements and eliminate systemic reliability issues.
- Own shared authentication, authorization, registration, and 2FA infrastructure.
- Develop common account controls, user restrictions, security mechanisms, integrations, shared backend capabilities, analytics and event infrastructure, and common infrastructure across web and native applications.
- Partner with Product, Design, Security, and engineering teams on cross-company capabilities.
- Work directly with product leaders, General Managers, and C-level stakeholders to connect technology decisions with growth, revenue, conversion, customer experience, and product velocity.
- Prioritize engineering initiatives based on technical risk and business impact.
- Lead and develop the Platform engineering organization, including team structure, hiring, performance, priorities, and execution.
- Build engineering ownership and accountability; develop technical leaders; raise the technical and execution bar.
- Actively use AI tools and agents, introduce AI-assisted workflows, automate repetitive engineering work, and integrate AI into the engineering operating model.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Bitcoin mining site operations or similar high-density data environments.
- Strong understanding of ASIC miner architecture, firmware, and diagnostics.
- Skilled in electrical and low-voltage systems, cabling, and power distribution.
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (IP addressing, switches, monitoring tools).
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and electrical schematics.
- Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
- Comfortable working in physically demanding and outdoor conditions.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights or weekends as needed.
