Job Description
Freelance English-to-Lithuanian linguist translating medical-device and IVD documentation for Welo Life Sciences. Reviewing translations and QA feedback in memoQ.
Responsibilities:
- Translate medical device and in vitro diagnostics documentation from English (US) into Lithuanian
- Perform Copy Edit/translation review for accuracy, terminology consistency, and project-specific quality compliance
- Review and address QA feedback and client feedback on flagged linguistic issues
- Meet agreed deadlines and maintain high-quality standards
- Work in the client's memoQ 12.5+ CAT-tool environment using the provided license
- Follow project-specific instructions and workflows
- Translate IFUs, user manuals, product documentation, labeling, diagnostic test documentation, and other medical device/IVD materials
- Support an expected project volume of approximately 70,000 words per month
- Maintain ongoing weekly availability
- Complete additional QA feedback checks and client feedback reviews when assigned
Requirements:
- English (US) into Lithuanian translation expertise
- At least two years of professional experience in Life Sciences translation, specifically Medical Devices and In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD)
- Proven experience translating medical documentation in the relevant fields
- Ability to perform both Translation and Copy Edit tasks
- Experience with memoQ version 12.5 or higher
- Suitable desktop version of memoQ installed; a free version is acceptable
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word and document editing workflows
- Applicants must meet at least one: degree in Translation, Linguistics, or Language Studies (or equivalent degree); recognized graduate qualification in another field plus at least two years of full-time professional translation experience; or at least five years of full-time professional translation experience
- Experience limited to patent translation is insufficient
- Willingness to complete an assessment
- Latest English CV must include total translation experience, Medical Devices and IVD experience, translated documentation examples, memoQ version, Translation and Copy Edit experience, email, and phone number
