Job Description
English Transcriber creating verbatim conversational transcripts for Arctic Engines’ AI speech-training data projects. Handling code-switched audio, accents, speech issues, and QA feedback.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately transcribe conversational audio verbatim in English script
- Preserve fillers, repetitions, stutters, false starts, and natural speech patterns
- Handle Odia-English/Hindi code-switching, regional accents, and colloquial speech
- Identify and tag unintelligible speech, overlapping speech, background noise, and other audio issues
- Follow project-specific transcription and formatting guidelines
- Maintain 97%+ transcription accuracy and meet assigned TATs
- Review and correct work based on QA/reviewer feedback
- Complete the application screening, English transcription skill test, evaluation and shortlisting, NDA/onboarding, and production assignment process
- Support a large-scale conversational voice data project for training AI speech models
- Transcribe natural, unscripted English conversations across Finance, Travel, Healthcare, Retail, Telecom, and other topics
Requirements:
- Native or near-native proficiency in English, with excellent reading and writing skills
- 1–3+ years of experience in transcription, subtitling, captioning, speech annotation, or similar work preferred
- Strong English typing skills; 40+ WPM preferred
- Excellent listening skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working with natural, unscripted, multi-speaker conversations
- Experience handling multilingual/code-switched audio is an advantage
- Laptop/desktop, reliable internet, and good-quality headphones are required
- Must maintain 97%+ transcription accuracy and meet assigned TATs
- Must sign an NDA before accessing project audio and transcription materials
