Job Description

Estimator/Sales role for remote work aiding Australian companies in road-safety infrastructure projects. Requires strong technical background in civil infrastructure with flexibility as an independent contractor.

Responsibilities:

  • Review engineering drawings, tender documents, and specifications to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates.
  • Set up quotation files, manage incoming sales enquiries, and ensure all documentation is complete.
  • Conduct material take-offs and prepare cost sheets for road-safety barrier systems and related installations.
  • Prepare, submit, and actively follow up on quotations to maintain a strong and consistent project pipeline.
  • Update the CRM system daily to reflect accurate project status, follow-ups, and prospect information.
  • Work closely with the Sales Manager to clarify tender outcomes and support the conversion of awarded projects.
  • Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and the development of short-, medium-, and long-term business plans.
  • Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with both new and existing clients.
  • Perform additional tasks as required to support business operations and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in roadworks or civil infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of Australian road-safety standards, civil construction requirements, and installation practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, drawings, and BOQs confidently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and estimating tools (Bluebeam experience is highly advantageous).
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Prior estimating experience with safety barriers, guardrails, civil structures, or similar systems is highly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and sound commercial judgment.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
