Job Description
Estimator/Tender Writer managing tender processes, pricing, and scheduling tasks efficiently in engineering. Critical role ensuring timely and competitive tender submissions while maintaining organized workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and pricing schedules using spreadsheets for labor, materials, and project timelines.
- Draft and compile tender documents, ensuring compliance with client specifications and deadlines.
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain and evaluate quotes for project requirements.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring alignment with tender requirements and delivery timelines.
- Track and follow up on submitted tenders, addressing client inquiries and providing additional documentation as needed.
- Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, document management, and maintaining accurate records of tenders and quotes.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information for accurate tender submissions and cost planning.
- Monitor and update spreadsheets to reflect changes in costs, schedules, or project scope.
- Ensure all tender-related correspondence and documentation are organized and filed appropriately.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in estimating, tender writing, or administrative support roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for creating and managing cost estimates, schedules, and pricing spreadsheets.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret project requirements and cost data accurately.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for drafting tenders and coordinating with stakeholders.
- High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in estimates, schedules, and documentation.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tenders and administrative tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
