Job Description

Exercise Specialist designing virtual and in-person strength and conditioning programs for University of Rochester clients. Coaching teams and individuals while measuring training progress and expanding fitness services.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement strength and conditioning programs for teams and individuals
  • Coach daily stretching, strength, speed, agility, power, and conditioning development programs
  • Design and maintain virtual exercise plans for remote clients
  • Update the exercise database, educational content, online resources, social media platforms, and training platform pages
  • Test teams and individuals to measure progress throughout training plans
  • Prepare after-program summaries with qualitative and quantitative analysis
  • Plan, write, and maintain daily, weekly, and yearly training programs for high school, collegiate, private training groups, and clients
  • Build connections with referring personnel and contact prospective clients
  • Share additional programs and service options with current clients
  • Attend informational sessions and events with potential organizations to demonstrate services
  • Plan and organize training sessions and program operations, including nutrition for special groups
  • Keep current with research and coaching methods in strength and conditioning, exercise science, nutrition, and mental health
  • Attend assigned continuing education courses
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field and less than 1 year relevant experience required
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
  • Basic foundational knowledge of strength and conditioning or physical performance training required
  • Must be an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist or eligible to sit for the examination, or hold a comparable credential upon hire
  • NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist credential required within 1 year
  • CPR certification required upon hire
