Job Description
Expert Team Lead guiding AI Tutors producing medical training data and evaluations for SpaceXAI’s models. Ensuring domain quality, operational excellence, and team performance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of AI Tutors delivering high-quality training data and evaluations for SpaceXAI’s models
- Own end-to-end quality and delivery for assigned Human Data projects
- Personally review domain work and ensure accuracy, consistency, guideline adherence, and high-quality data production
- Lead, coach, and performance-manage AI Tutors, including reviews, records, action plans, shadow sessions, and continuous improvement
- Oversee and participate in labeling and reviewing tasks
- Manage taxonomies and quality assurance processes
- Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements
- Track performance through KPI dashboards, including quality metrics, throughput, and send-back rates
- Collaborate with Human Data Managers, Team Leads, and Engineering to translate model needs into labeling strategies
- Coach and develop talent while maintaining accountability and a high-performance culture
- Document outcomes and report project status, risks, and results
- Represent tutors and foster collaboration across the Human Data organization
Requirements:
- 8 months or more of hands-on experience in data labeling, annotation, AI training/evaluation, content quality, or similar operational domains
- Basic understanding of AI and machine learning concepts and how high-quality training data impacts model performance
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a clinical or medicine-adjacent field, or 5+ years of experience in lieu of a degree
- Previous people leadership experience preferred
- Medical Doctorate, other completed clinical doctoral degrees, residency, or postgraduate clinical experience preferred or advantageous
- Familiarity with clinical data and workflows, including laboratory results, medical imaging, EHRs, and clinical documentation
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize effectively
- Experience reviewing domain work, ensuring data quality, and improving operational processes
- Experience with performance management, coaching, training program development, and certification frameworks
- Proficiency in data analysis and associated tools; SQL is a plus
- Experience managing mixed employment types or distributed teams
- Familiarity with Notion, Axiom, JIRA, Linear, or equivalent tools
- Candidates must be based in one of the listed countries where SpaceXAI has a physical office; remote work is also possible
