Job Description

External wholesaler building advisor relationships and generating asset-management product sales for Raymond James. Developing territory plans, presenting products, and partnering with internal wholesalers.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with financial advisors to generate assets within a specific territory
  • Educate financial advisors on offered products and services through individual or group meetings, branch visits, seminars, and conferences/trade shows
  • Develop and implement wholesaling business plans for the territory to achieve sales goals
  • Present sales activities at weekly wholesaling meetings
  • Maintain wholesaling activity logs and databases, including broker profiles and current or proposed sales activity
  • Work with the assigned internal wholesaler to achieve sales goals by fostering leads from referrals, advertising campaigns, and territory canvassing
  • Manage the expense account within the allotted budget
  • Lead projects, programs, or processes involving cross-functional teams
  • Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Finance or related field and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the financial services industry, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources
  • SIE required unless an exemption or grandfathering can be applied
  • FINRA Series 7 required, with ability to obtain other necessary licenses within sixty (60) days of hire
  • Knowledge of fundamental concepts, principles, and practices of the securities industry and asset management products
  • Knowledge of broker/dealer operations
  • Ability to identify customer needs through effective questioning and listening techniques
  • Ability to organize, manage, and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments in a fast-paced work environment
  • Skill in preparing and delivering clear, convincing, and professional sales presentations to small and large audiences
  • Problem-solving skills sufficient to analyze, research, and resolve inquiries and issues in a timely manner
  • Skill in analyzing business processes and identifying process improvement opportunities
  • Proficiency operating standard office equipment and required software applications
  • Ability to represent the company professionally
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, orally and in writing, with all organizational levels
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Up to 75% travel
