Job Description
Field Applications Engineer supporting Würth Elektronik eiSos customers with electronic component selection and design-ins. Providing technical consultation, training, and lifecycle support from concept through production.
Responsibilities:
- Visit customer sites to build relationships, answer technical questions, and provide hands-on product application support
- Support customers through component selection, evaluation, qualification, and series production
- Develop customer relationships through visits, telephone and video meetings, technical seminars, and customer-facing activities
- Provide technical support to outside sales staff
- Collaborate with internal departments and international colleagues
- Identify and communicate customer requirements, application challenges, and market trends to management, Product Management, and Product Definition Engineering
- Develop and deliver technical presentations, training sessions, product demonstrations, and seminars
- Provide expert technical support for electronic components and basic support for electromechanical components, including documentation and data requests
- Represent Würth Elektronik eiSos at trade shows, conferences, and industry events
- Build relationships with semiconductor-partner FAEs and FSEs to support customer-specific design wins
- Contribute to regional, national, and international conferences, workshops, and eiSos Technical Academy activities
- Influence innovative electronics projects from concept to production and strengthen sustainable customer relationships
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Communications Engineering, or a comparable technical qualification
- Practical experience in application engineering, field applications, technical sales, hardware development, or a related customer-facing technical role
- Sound understanding of electronic components and their applications
- Knowledge of electromechanical components is an advantage
- Ability to analyze technical requirements, communicate complex topics clearly, and develop customer-oriented solutions
- Confident presentation and training skills for technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong relationship-building skills and a collaborative, reliable working style
- Willingness to travel regularly within the region
- Very good communication skills in English
- Additional regional language skills are an advantage
- Proficiency with common digital communication and presentation tools
- Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites 20–40%, including approximately 10–15 weeks of domestic travel and 1–4 weeks of international travel per year
