Job Description
Field Service Technician installing, repairing, and maintaining Diebold Nixdorf hardware and software. Supporting banking and retail customers through troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and training.
Responsibilities:
- Install, debug and provide technical maintenance for product and component hardware and software, mainly on customer premises
- Perform scheduled inspections, cleaning and other services
- Perform minor product repairs within an assigned territory
- Inspect products for correct operation and resolve or escalate issues according to established procedures
- Schedule services and complete required paperwork
- Work with customers to ensure satisfaction with service delivery and understanding of product functionality
- Troubleshoot hardware and software failures using diagnostic tools
- Perform component-level hardware repairs
- Clean and adjust mechanical components
- Configure and install applicable software
- Perform routine preventive-maintenance checks
- Refill consumables as directed
- Install, move, add, change and remove hardware and software products
- Instruct and train customers on installed hardware and software usage
- Participate in hardware and software training
- Participate in measures to achieve agreed KPIs
- Assist with special projects
Requirements:
- Education or equivalent work experience required
- Minimum of 1–2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in Field Services
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Driver's license and driving record satisfying DN's fleet requirements
- PC literacy and knowledge and application of relevant tools and methods
- Product knowledge of the relevant industry and basic ITIL skills preferred
- Ability to attend training classes in Canton, Ohio for 1–2 weeks
- Ability to lift and move heavy loads, stand most of the day, climb, bend and stoop while working on equipment
- Acceptance of exposure to outside elements
- Shift adaptability, including on-call rotation for evenings and weekends
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to organize and inventory truck stock parts and tools
- Sense of urgency, organizational skills, professional presence and ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to pass MVR, background and drug tests where required
- Firstline Service Technician work experience preferred
- Vocational/Trade School preferred
