Job Description
Hach field technician maintaining and repairing water-quality instruments for municipal and industrial customers. Home-based Dallas role with daily territory travel and company vehicle.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality customer service at customer sites
- Perform preventive maintenance, routine repairs, and calibration/verification of Hach devices
- Serve as on-site customer contact for technical and service-related problems
- Work in municipal and industrial settings, including water and wastewater facilities, refineries, chemical manufacturing plants, and food and beverage processing facilities
- Service instruments in NEC hazardous locations (Class I Division 2) where applicable
- Submit prompt, accurate service reports affecting billing, inventory, instrument history, and instrument failure
- Follow safe work practices according to company policy
- Execute administrative activities supporting service visits
- Travel daily to customer sites throughout the Dallas-area territory
- Report to the Field Service Manager
Requirements:
- HS Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years of field service experience and/or customer-facing roles preferred
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to rent a car and/or hotel rooms under applicable state law
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with preventative maintenance and technical diagnostics/repair would be an asset
- Associates/technical degree preferred, or a combination of education and experience
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel daily to customer sites, typically within a 2-hour radius
- 65–75% of weekly travel will include overnight stays
- Occasional travel to other states within the region, with trips lasting up to one week
