Job Description

Hach field technician maintaining and repairing water-quality instruments for municipal and industrial customers. Home-based Dallas role with daily territory travel and company vehicle.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality customer service at customer sites
  • Perform preventive maintenance, routine repairs, and calibration/verification of Hach devices
  • Serve as on-site customer contact for technical and service-related problems
  • Work in municipal and industrial settings, including water and wastewater facilities, refineries, chemical manufacturing plants, and food and beverage processing facilities
  • Service instruments in NEC hazardous locations (Class I Division 2) where applicable
  • Submit prompt, accurate service reports affecting billing, inventory, instrument history, and instrument failure
  • Follow safe work practices according to company policy
  • Execute administrative activities supporting service visits
  • Travel daily to customer sites throughout the Dallas-area territory
  • Report to the Field Service Manager

Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2 years of field service experience and/or customer-facing roles preferred
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to rent a car and/or hotel rooms under applicable state law
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with preventative maintenance and technical diagnostics/repair would be an asset
  • Associates/technical degree preferred, or a combination of education and experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel daily to customer sites, typically within a 2-hour radius
  • 65–75% of weekly travel will include overnight stays
  • Occasional travel to other states within the region, with trips lasting up to one week
