Job Description

Field Service Technician repairing BD automated dispensing systems for healthcare and government customers. Providing troubleshooting, installations, maintenance, and daily field support across Roanoke, Virginia.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide remote and on-site technical support for automated dispensing systems
  • Support DHA and DoD facilities
  • Respond to, evaluate, prioritize, and resolve work orders within service-level expectations
  • Diagnose and repair proprietary hardware and software components with full case ownership
  • Independently troubleshoot sophisticated issues and escalate to Senior or Lead Field Service Engineers as needed
  • Perform preventive maintenance, installations, repairs, and calibrations
  • Manage inventory and adhere to company policy
  • Develop professional customer communication and relationships
  • Complete accurate service documentation, including expenses and time tracking
  • Ensure compliance with MDR and service procedures
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Provide daily travel to customer locations within the assigned Roanoke, VA territory
  • Provide on-call coverage as territory needs change

Requirements:

  • 1–3 years of combined hardware, software, and IT support experience
  • Eligibility to obtain access to Federal Government facilities, including Department of Defense, Bureau of Prisons, Veterans Affairs Hospitals, Indian Health Services Facilities, and other facilities requiring background investigations and identification badges
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
  • Medical or electromechanical device repair experience required
  • Associate degree in a related field or 3+ years of Field Service or Technical Support experience
  • 24×7 on-call service experience preferred
  • CompTIA A+ Certification or equivalent preferred
  • Mechanical proficiency to disassemble and reassemble complex systems
  • Proficiency with Windows OS, networking, and diagnostic instruments
  • Ability to operate powered and manual hand tools
  • Ability to lift 85 lbs frequently and 115 lbs occasionally, including overhead lifts
  • Ability to climb, kneel, crawl, reach, grasp, stand, and walk for extended periods
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving requirements
  • Daily car travel required, with occasional air travel and overnight stays
  • Support government accounts requiring eligibility for a CAC (Common Access Card)
