Job Description
Financial Analyst optimizing cost accounting, service-line reporting, and financial performance for St. Charles Health System. Supporting budgets, forecasts, cost transformation, and data-driven healthcare decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Process, reconcile, and publish monthly Cost Accounting results
- Partner with IT resources to ensure accurate data interactions and identify current issues
- Research and implement software updates and identify improvement opportunities
- Assist Service Line Leaders and Senior Directors with service line development, performance, and improvement projects
- Drive consistency and a system-wide service line approach across facilities
- Prepare, validate, and analyze monthly and daily financial information
- Use Labor Productivity and Cost Accounting systems to share useful insights
- Drive insight into service line performance and provide recommendations for decision-making
- Discover and coordinate initiatives improving operating efficiency, revenue optimization, and cost transformation
- Leverage cost accounting and service line reporting in financial analysis and modeling
- Develop reports and analyses for financial modeling, cost and revenue analysis, operational benchmarking, ad-hoc analysis, and performance improvement
- Communicate complex financial concepts to all levels of leadership
- Pursue continuous improvement of metrics and help leaders understand healthcare cost impacts
- Support standard work for systems and processes
- Consolidate operational input to develop operational budgets
- Support the long-range financial plan and operating budget
- Champion Lean continuous-improvement principles and organizational change
- Maintain safe, professional, confidential, ethical, and compliant operations
- Deliver timely, efficient, and accurate customer service and/or patient care
- Perform additional duties of similar complexity as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance
- Two (2) years finance experience
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Excel and PowerPoint
- Document preparation proficiency
- Valid Oregon driver's license and ability to meet SCHS driving requirements
- Ability to travel to business functions, trainings, meetings, and all SCHS worksites
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- HFMA membership and certification preferred
- Healthcare finance experience preferred
- Experience with cost accounting design and maintenance, clinical data systems, and rolling forecasts preferred
