Job Description

Financial Database SME designing SQL-driven reconciliation tools for Lodestar Consulting’s Air Force financial systems support. Enabling audit analysis across Sub-Ledger and General Ledger data.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain database architectures supporting extraction, storage, and analysis of financial data from Sub-Ledger and General Ledger systems
  • Develop data models for reconciliation, traceability, and auditability of financial transactions
  • Ensure database designs support scalability, performance, and data integrity
  • Develop and optimize data extraction processes from sub-ledger and general ledger source systems
  • Transform and normalize data for accurate cross-system comparisons
  • Align extracted data with accounting structures, chart of accounts, and reporting requirements
  • Build automated or semi-automated tools to compare sub-ledger and general ledger data
  • Design queries, views, and scripts to identify discrepancies, variances, and anomalies
  • Enable drill-down capabilities tracing discrepancies to source transactions
  • Implement data validation and reconciliation controls
  • Develop technical documentation covering database structures, extraction logic, assumptions, mappings, transformations, and comparison methodologies
  • Support testing and validation of comparison tools for audit reliability
  • Support auditors and financial analysts with data extracts, comparison outputs, and technical explanations

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience designing and managing databases for financial or audit-related analytics
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and database architecture principles
  • Experience extracting, transforming, and reconciling data across multiple systems
  • Familiarity with financial systems, Sub-Ledgers, and General Ledger structures
  • Experience in regulated or audited financial environments preferred
  • Experience supporting financial audits or audit-readiness initiatives preferred
  • Experience supporting large enterprise financial systems, including ERP environments or DEAMS, preferred
  • Experience in regulated, secure, Department of Defense, or other federal agency environments preferred
  • Detailed familiarity with AF Lines of Accounting and financial data elements
  • Knowledge of accounting principles related to Sub-Ledger and General Ledger integration
  • Familiarity with listed defense and financial systems/software preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance required
  • U.S. Citizenship required

  • Willingness to travel may be required based on the role

Benefits:

  • Base pay range of $110,000–$150,000
  • Bonuses (when applicable)
