Job Description
Financial Database SME designing SQL-driven reconciliation tools for Lodestar Consulting’s Air Force financial systems support. Enabling audit analysis across Sub-Ledger and General Ledger data.
Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain database architectures supporting extraction, storage, and analysis of financial data from Sub-Ledger and General Ledger systems
- Develop data models for reconciliation, traceability, and auditability of financial transactions
- Ensure database designs support scalability, performance, and data integrity
- Develop and optimize data extraction processes from sub-ledger and general ledger source systems
- Transform and normalize data for accurate cross-system comparisons
- Align extracted data with accounting structures, chart of accounts, and reporting requirements
- Build automated or semi-automated tools to compare sub-ledger and general ledger data
- Design queries, views, and scripts to identify discrepancies, variances, and anomalies
- Enable drill-down capabilities tracing discrepancies to source transactions
- Implement data validation and reconciliation controls
- Develop technical documentation covering database structures, extraction logic, assumptions, mappings, transformations, and comparison methodologies
- Support testing and validation of comparison tools for audit reliability
- Support auditors and financial analysts with data extracts, comparison outputs, and technical explanations
Requirements:
- 5+ years of relevant experience designing and managing databases for financial or audit-related analytics
- Strong proficiency in SQL and database architecture principles
- Experience extracting, transforming, and reconciling data across multiple systems
- Familiarity with financial systems, Sub-Ledgers, and General Ledger structures
- Experience in regulated or audited financial environments preferred
- Experience supporting financial audits or audit-readiness initiatives preferred
- Experience supporting large enterprise financial systems, including ERP environments or DEAMS, preferred
- Experience in regulated, secure, Department of Defense, or other federal agency environments preferred
- Detailed familiarity with AF Lines of Accounting and financial data elements
- Knowledge of accounting principles related to Sub-Ledger and General Ledger integration
- Familiarity with listed defense and financial systems/software preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience
- Active DoD Secret Security Clearance required
- U.S. Citizenship required

Benefits:
- Base pay range of $110,000–$150,000
- Bonuses (when applicable)

- Travel and relocation expenses may be considered based on the appropriate candidate
- Up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave per year for eligible employees under FMLA
